I-77 Southbound: Take I-77 South past the I-85 interchange. Proceed to the Morehead Street Exit (Exit 10A by the Panthers football stadium). At the bottom of the exit, turn left. Go straight for approximately one mile, passing through several stop lights. The Mayes House is on the left, directly across the street from the Dowd YMCA.

I-77 Northbound: Take I-77 North and exit on the John Belk Freeway. Cross to the right-hand lane and take the Carson Boulevard Exit. At the first stop-light, turn left on Mint Street. At the next stop-light, turn right on Morehead Street. Go straight for approximately ½ mile. The Mayes House is on the left, and the Dowd YMCA is directly across the street on the right.
