Robert A. Blake, Jr. joined Wyatt & Blake, LLP in 1999, after having the unique opportunity of clerking for three federal judges. After graduating cum laude fromWake Forest Law School in 1994, he clerked for Chief Judge Graham C. Mullen of the Western District of North Carolina. He then clerked for United States Circuit Judge Wade Brorby, who serves on the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. Finally, he clerked briefly for United States District Court Judge H. Brent McKnight of the Western District of North Carolina before joining Wyatt & Blake, LLP.
Rob has engaged in a litigation practice involving criminal and civil cases since joining Wyatt & Blake, LLP, and became a partner in 2004. Please see the Notable Cases Section of this website for a description of some of his cases.
Background
Rob attended the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill as an undergraduate, where he pursued a double major in criminal justice and psychology. He graduated with honors in 1991.
Thereafter, Rob attended law school at Wake Forest University, where he was a member of the Scholastics Honor Society, an Editorial Board Member of the Wake Forest Law Review, and a legal research and writing teaching assistant. Rob graduated cum laude from Wake Forest Law School in 1994.
Following law school, Rob clerked for Chief Judge Graham C. Mullen from 1994 until 1996. Judge Mullen has served as the Chief Judge of the Western District of North Carolina for the last seven years. While clerking for Judge Mullen, Rob was selected by United States Circuit Judge Wade Brorby for a clerkship on the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. While working for Judge Brorby, Rob lived in Cheyenne, Wyoming and attended Circuit Court in Denver, Colorado when the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals held Court.
